EARNING POINTS
Teams earn points while placing in USSSA Tournaments. Teams
accumulate points throughout the season. These points are used
to seed teams in the State Tournament and also in USSSA World
Series. The more tournaments a team participates in and the
higher they place, the better seed for the State Tournament and
World Series. Teams may also receive points for participating
in USSSA Sanctioned Leagues.
DOUBLE POINTS WEEKENDS
Iowa
USSSA will offer two weekends of tournaments where teams can double
their points for placing.
STATE QUALIFYING TOURNAMENTS
Teams that participate in State Qualifiers automatically qualify to
participate in the Iowa USSSA State Tournament.
USSSA NIT TOURNAMENTS
These tournaments are the top of the line in USSSA Tournaments.
These tournaments usually draw more teams from surrounding states.
Teams placing 1st or 2nd receive berths to the USSSA World Series.
These teams must also participate in the Iowa USSSA State Tournament
for the Berth to be valid. All teams that participate in a NIT
automatically qualify to participate in the Iowa USSSA State
Tournament. NIT Tournament awards much higher points then a
State Qualifying Tournament or a World Series Qualifier.
GLOBAL SPORTS QUALIFIERS
Every
team participating in a Global Sports Qualifier automatically qualify for a
Global Sports World Series. Global Sports Qualifiers awards teams the same
point structure as a USSSA NIT Tournament.
